Maggie's in Champaign had a remarkable first year and Nancy and I would like to thank all of you for your continued support to the store and our mission. Over the past year we have donated money and merchandise to the Center for Women in Transition and other service organizations. Most recently was a $1000 donation for the purchase of a dishwasher for their new facility. This past year has had many firsts (of course)and we have been busy spreading the news of what Maggie's Place is all about. You as customers have helped do this and it is much appreciated. This past July we helped C. Jane Designs with decorating a home for the Showcase.

Viva Las Vegas! Nancy and I have just returned from almost a week in fab Vegas. It was my first visit and it is truly
a city of lights. Although this is not the first year for the World Market, it was our first visit and the first show for the new building they have built. Sixteen floors of furniture and accessories from all over the world in just this building. Open celebration activities included the Blue Man Group. Maggies in Champaign will have new furniture arriving over the next several months--we want you to know that we are a full service store where you can purchase a new bedroom outfit along with your dining room

Diane and I have been shopping. We went to the Chicago Gift Show to see what was happening. On Sunday 1/28/07 Diane, Linda and I are going to Las Vegas.

At the Chicago show the colors continue to be that aqua blue along with complimentary greens and the chocolate brown. Red is still popular along with the bronzes and dark metals. We didn't see a lot of white except the usual spring stuff. We saw a focus on lake and beach colors and accessories. I don't know how that will play in the landlocked midwest, but we'll see. We bought a new line of clocks called Timeworks that will be coming soon.
