![]() Sales, Buy Locally and SpringOur designers have been so busy these last few weeks. Thank you so much for your business. We look forward to helping you if you wish. To come to the house for an initial consultation is $75, but if you want to bring in pictures and measurements, we can help that way too. A designer is always at the shop to help, just bring it on. We have two houses that Maggie’s decorated in the Naperville Magazine! They are in the February and March issue. We are so excited. We have the February one in the store, so come on in and see if you like our work. We are waiting for you. We have worked on the website a little. Now you can shop on line for Powell and have it delivered right to you door or you can browse through other vendors that we use and see what we can get for you. The browse websites do not offer pricing, but write it down and come on in and we can get it priced and ordered. Hunter Douglas is having a fantastic sale. This is the best sale we’ve ever seen. So if you are looking for window treatments, now is the time. The sale runs now until April 30th and it is in the form of a rebate. The rebates run from $50 per window to $300 per window. Look at the products icon on the home page and then click on Hunter Douglas. That will take you to their website and you can browse through all their goodies. Now is the time to take advantage of the slower economy. Great deals are being offered to get business going, so if you can, take advantage. Speaking of a slower economy, Maggie’s has joined the area “Buy Locally” campaign. This group is reaching out to the consumer to encourage buying locally. We are working to let everyone know where your money goes after it leaves you. If you spend $100 at a big box store, $57 leaves the local economy. If you make purchases at a locally owned business, only $32 leaves the economy. What is that you say? Well, for example, my advertisers, supplies, marketing, website management, printing, signs just about everything employs local businesses. The only thing that leaves the economy is the furniture suppliers. However, Maggie’s buys lots of furniture locally, so even more money stay here. So keep the money as local as you can. We know that shopping local takes a second to think about, but instead of going to Walgreen’s for cards, go to Hallmark. Instead of going to Chili’s go to Driscoll’s or Jameson’s Tavern or Louie’s Chop House. Find out what chains are independent franchises and what ones are company owned. Ok, I’m done with my soapbox. SPRING IS HERE, well it is coming. After last week, we were teased and we liked it. Our bunnies, birds, cows, sheep, monkeys and a host of other animals are here for waiting for good homes, along with beautiful floral and butterflies galore. These butterflies are only $1.95 but clip anywhere to offer a little bit of spring while we shovel the driveway. ![]() |
